Car trackers for a Suzuki: built-in tracking and theft risk, model by model

No. No Suzuki sold in South Africa has built-in tracking: Suzuki Auto South Africa’s site mentions no Suzuki Connect, app or tracker for any model, and its specification pages list only Bluetooth and phone mirroring through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.1 The Ertiga is the one Suzuki on the recent lists of hijacking targets, named by Fidelity ADT in February 2026 and sixth on AutoTrader’s 2026 list.2,3

Checked on 27 October 2026 against Suzuki Auto South Africa’s model and specification pages, and the hijacking lists published in 2025 and 2026.

“Not listed” means Suzuki’s specification page for that model has no row for the feature, not that the car lacks it, so ask the dealer about the car you are buying.

Does Suzuki have built-in tracking?

Not on any model sold here. Suzuki Auto South Africa’s home page lists the range, from the Celerio and S-Presso to the Grand Vitara, XL6, Eeco and Super Carry, and nowhere mentions Suzuki Connect, a Suzuki app, connected-car services, telematics or a tracker.1 The specification pages list, at most, Bluetooth and “Smartphone Connectivity” with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. That is phone mirroring, which puts your phone on the car’s screen; none of the pages lists a way to see where the car is.5,12

Suzuki’s own accessories don’t include a tracker either, as far as its guide shows. Published in December 2025, it names parking sensors and camera kits as the safety extras and says nothing about trackers, alarms or immobilisers.13

Is Suzuki Connect available in South Africa?

Not as far as anything Suzuki publishes here shows. Suzuki Connect is Maruti Suzuki’s service in India, launched in July 2018 as an optional add-on for NEXA customers at “about Rs. 9,999” for three years, with “Real time vehicle tracking” among its features.14 Suzuki Auto South Africa’s site doesn’t mention it, so the Suzuki Connect app listings and pages that turn up in a search describe a service a car bought here doesn’t have.1

Is Suzuki a high-risk brand in South Africa?

Only one Suzuki is named. Fidelity ADT’s February 2026 list of “the most frequently targeted vehicles in recent incidents” puts the Ertiga beside the Polo, Grand i10, Almera, Quantum, Venue and NP200, and AutoTrader ranks the Ertiga sixth on “The 2026 target list”.2,3

No other Suzuki appears on the lists we checked: King Price’s top 10 for 2026, Fidelity’s list from February 2025, MasterDrive’s from May 2026, gauteng.net’s and Pineapple’s.15,16,17,18,19 None of them gives a count for any model, so treat the names as warnings, not measurements.

Suzuki Fronx

The Fronx comes as the GL and GLX, each with a manual or an automatic gearbox, and only the GLX has keyless entry and push start. All four versions list an immobiliser and a security alarm.4 The Fronx tracker page explains how to track one, and why Suzuki Connect isn’t the answer.

Suzuki Swift

Five Swift trims are sold, from the 1.2 GL to the GLX CVT, and the two GLX versions are the keyless ones. Every trim lists an immobiliser and a security alarm.5 We found no list that names the Swift, and the Suzuki Swift tracker page covers what that does and doesn’t mean.

Suzuki Ertiga

The Ertiga is the Suzuki that Fidelity ADT and AutoTrader name, and AutoTrader puts it down to its “Dominance in the ride-hailing sector”.3 Its specifications list no keyless entry, and the entry-level GA has no alarm.6 The Ertiga tracker page covers why it is targeted and what to fit.

Suzuki Celerio

The Celerio, sold as the 1.0 GA, GL and GL AMT, has no keyless entry or push start on any version, and the GA goes without central locking. Every Celerio has an immobiliser, and the specifications have no alarm row or connected feature of any kind.9 No list we read names the Celerio.

Suzuki Dzire

The Dzire comes as the GA, the GL+ manual and the GL+ CVT. Bluetooth is on all three and phone mirroring only on the GL+, while an immobiliser, a security alarm and central locking are standard across the range; keyless entry isn’t listed.10

Suzuki Baleno

On the Baleno, the GLX manual and automatic have keyless entry with push start and the two GL versions don’t. All four list an immobiliser and a security alarm, with central locking from a switch on the driver’s side.11

Suzuki Grand Vitara

The Grand Vitara has keyless entry and push start on every trim: the 1.5 GL manual and automatic and the GLX automatic. It also lists an immobiliser and a security alarm throughout, and a 9-inch touchscreen for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.12

How to track a Suzuki

Fit a tracker with a recovery service, because no Suzuki sold here reports its own position. If your insurer asks for one, check what it accepts. Naked, for one, says “you’re free to use any reputable provider, as long as it includes vehicle recovery”, and that it needs “just one professionally installed device with an active vehicle recovery service”.20

On a keyless Suzuki, which means the Swift, Fronx and Baleno GLX and every Grand Vitara, look after the key’s signal as well. Pineapple suggests a Faraday bag “to prevent the cloning of keyless access signals”.21

Our deals start from R99pm for a wireless recovery unit, or R149pm for a full insurance-approved tracker. Free installation, 36-month contract.

Questions people ask

Can I track my Suzuki car?

Only with a tracker fitted to it. Suzuki South Africa offers no app or connected service that shows where the car is, so a tracking unit with a recovery service is the way to follow a Suzuki that has been taken.

Does Suzuki have an app for its cars in South Africa?

Not one that tracks the car. Suzuki Auto South Africa’s site mentions no Suzuki app, and Suzuki Connect, the tracking app you may find in app stores, is Maruti Suzuki’s service in India.

Which Suzuki do hijackers target?

The Ertiga. Fidelity ADT named it among the most frequently targeted vehicles in February 2026, and AutoTrader ranks it sixth for the year, linking the risk to its use in ride-hailing.
